Abstract

In this work, a study of the effect of the phase conductor transposition for a multi-circuit high voltage power transmission lines on the induced voltage on a buried pipeline was conducted and considered through modelling. The modelling was done applying Carson’s concept of mutual impedances for a double circuit, three circuits and four circuit power transmission line on a buried pipeline. The simulated results obtained showed that the transmission line with un-transposed phase combination has the greater effect on the induced voltage while for the one or more of the other combinations, a cancellation or reduction can occur. This also is dependent on the tower geometry and the relative position of the pipeline and the transmission line. Also, the magnitude of the induced voltage increases with increasing number of circuits.

Abstract

Notice of Retraction-----------------------------------------------------------------------After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IAES's Publication Principles. We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper. The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting ijeei.iaes@gmail.com.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Bilingual dictionaries have always been an important source of query translation in Cross Language Information Retrieval. Besides other issues bilingual translation suffers from ambiguity problem. To resolve this issue, several recent works have recommended the use of term co occurrence statistics. Same concept with a major modification is the focus of our work described here. Our work is based on the fact that all terms do not have same discriminating power in a query. To overcome such problem, our algorithm provides more weight to discriminating terms in the query and treats co occurrences of useful terms as more valuable than those of frequent terms. The paper also takes into account the concept of local context in formulating formula for co-occurrences statistics. In the experiments, our method achieved 85% of monolingual translation in terms of the mean average precision (MAP). The results are quiet encouraging as compared to other methods used for cross language information retrieval for Indian languages.

Abstract

The generalized discrete Hartley transforms (GDHTs) have proved to be an efficient alternative to the generalized discrete Fourier transforms (GDFTs) for real-valued data applications. In this paper, the development of direct computation of radix-2 decimation-in-time (DIT) algorithm for the fast calculation of the GDHT of type-II (DHT-II) is presented. The mathematical analysis and the implementation of the developed algorithm are derived, showing that this algorithm possesses a regular structure and can be implemented in-place for efficient memory utilization. The performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed and the computational complexity is calculated for different transform lengths. A comparison between this algorithm and existing DHT-II algorithms shows that it can be considered as a good compromise between the structural and computational complexities.

Abstract

The demand to preserve raw image data for further processing has been increased with the hasty growth of digital technology. In medical industry the images are generally in the form of sequences which are much correlated. These images are very important and hence lossless compression Technique is required to reduce the number of bits to store these image sequences and take less time to transmit over the network The proposed compression method combines Super-Spatial Structure Prediction with inter-frame coding that includes Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation to achieve higher compression ratio. Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation is made with the fast block-matching process Inverse Diamond Search method. To enhance the compression ratio we propose a new scheme Bose, Chaudhuri and Hocquenghem (BCH). Results are compared in terms of compression ratio and Bits per pixel to the prior arts. Experimental results of our proposed algorithm for medical image sequences achieve 30% more reduction than the other state-of-the-art lossless image compression methods.

Abstract

Humans communication is generally under the control of emotions and full of opinions. Emotions and their opinions plays an important role in thinking process of mind, influences the human actions too. Sentiment analysis is one of the ways to explore user’s opinion made on any social media and networking site for various commercial applications in number of fields. This paper takes into account the basis requirements of opinion mining to explore the present techniques used to develop a fully fledged system. Is highlights the opportunities or deployment and research of such systems. The available tools used for building such applications have even presented with their merits and limitations.
